Your bathroom is one of the germiest places in your home, second to your kitchen. (For more information about kitchen germs, read our Related blog link below.) In fact, most people would probably believe it to be the dirtiest room in the home. And while our research has taught us the kitchen wins that prize, the bathroom is a close second. That means that your kitchen and bathroom are two of the best and most important places to use our smart-technology paint to destroy germs and mold. In order to protect you and your family from inhaling and spreading germs, stop them in their tracks and destroy them with the power of photocatalysis.

Germs Invading Your Bathroom
There are several germs that invade your bathroom and make it their home. One germ that can live for as long as a week on a hard surface is gastroenteritis viruses. It is more commonly known as the norovirus which can cause awful symptoms associated with any typical gastrointestinal illness. They tend to live and thrive on the toilet seat, as well as spreading to other hard surfaces.
Other bacteria can include skin organisms such as staphylococcus aureus (or staph). It is typically found on the skin, hair, nose, or throat and can cause infections when spread. It is a germ that can live for weeks without a host (or off the body on a bathroom surface). There is a strain of staph that is antibiotic resistant, a group A strep, and is known as “flesh-eating” bacteria.
Since molds and fungi grow quicker and more abundantly in moist climates (bathrooms/showers/baths) there is a lot of mold and fungi growing in every bathroom. They don’t cause infections or illness, but they can exacerbate asthma and allergies. Did you know that your shower curtain and shower floor harbor more germs than your toilet? It’s true! In fact, sixty times more! Activa Coating can easily assist in cleaning any mold and fungi out of the air to protect your lungs.
Even though we’ve only highlighted a few of the infectious germs, bacteria, mold, and fungi that can grow in your bathroom, there are millions more that we didn’t mention (trust us, we got scared researching how many and what kind of germs grow in a bathroom). They grow everywhere! The floor, the toilet handle, the mirrors, any hard surface, and worst of all, your toothbrush.
Our Solution
One of the easiest ways to protect your family from your bathroom is to use Activa Coatings. Luckily, we have a few different options you can choose from!
First, we have our smart-technology Flat Ceiling Paint. Because it is ceiling paint, you would of course, use it only on your ceiling. This could be a great route to go into your bathroom as steam rises to the ceiling. However, it is a smaller surface for air to pass over meaning it could take more time to assist in eliminating the microbes.
Next, we have White Matte Finish paint which can be used on the walls in your bathroom or any room in your house. We recommend this product above our others for your bathroom. It gives you the highest amount of surface for helping to destroy germs, bacteria, mold, and fungi. Since your bathroom is one of the dirtiest rooms in the house, wouldn’t you want there to be optimal destroying power to clean surfaces, and help eliminate the risks of getting sick? It comes in a few of our custom paint colors.
Last, we have White Eggshell Finish paint and Clear Surface Treatment. The Clear Surface Treatment is a clear coating, typically used in polluted and industrial areas where chemical pollutants are present. It would actually be perfect for the outside of your house, instead of inside the bathroom. It can be painted on a variety of surfaces, including concrete, brick, and other hardscapes.
The best way to assist in keeping your bathroom clean and free of pollutants is to paint with Activa Coatings. Not only will you protect your bathroom, but you will also protect your family and their health.
