One of the less-discussed aspects of our smart-technology paint is the fact that it eliminates odors! The photocatalytic process destroys odor particles to help the air smell fresh and clean. We discussed this briefly in our blogs about painting with Activa in your kitchen and bathroom! This is a great feature for those who have children or poor ventilation. However, today we want to touch on something we haven’t discussed with you before: Companion animals.
If you have them, we know you love them! Companion animals can bring us so much joy, but they can also be messy and smelly! There are tons of products on the market that work to cover up the smell, but there aren’t many that work to get rid of the smell. Plus, several of the products that are used to cover up the smell (looking at you, aerosols) are harmful for the environment. Luckily, you can paint your area with Activa and Activa will take care of the rest for you. (And, we are super safe for the environment!) Below are some places Activa can help with companion animal smells!
Homes
Depending on the type of companion animal you have and how big your home is, you might have a slight or severe odor issue just from your animals alone. Cats, in particular, tend to be one of the smelliest because of their litter box. While there are “odor eliminating” cat litters, they don’t always do the trick. Even if you dedicate yourself to cleaning the litter box at least once a day, the litter doesn’t have a great smell on its own. Painting that room with Activa will solve the smelly cat box issue once and for all!
You might even have a room with smaller animals, like gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, chinchillas, bunnies, ferrets, or other. Smaller animals typically have bedding in their home that can start to smell if it’s not cleaned properly or frequently enough. We’ve found that even some of the bedding can have unwanted odors. Paint with Activa in your small critter’s room to eliminate odors!
Veterinary Offices
No companion animal likes going to the vet, which means lots of accidents. I don’t know about you, but my dog definitely pees at least once every time we go to the vet. Plus, there are usually animals in the back waiting for surgery, recovering from surgery, or being cared for while their family is away. With that many animals coming in and out of one space every day, the smells can pile up. Encourage your veterinary office to paint with Activa to rid their business of odors!
Groomers
Groomers are another place where companion animals frequent in high doses. From wet dog smells to urine smells, groomers offices have an unforgettable odor. Plus, if you live in an area that has frequent skunks, several animals get sprayed by skunks every year and will need an emergency bathing appointment to get rid of it! Our odor destroying paint can help eliminate all these unwanted odors. Encourage your groomer to paint with Activa! Their noses will thank you.
Pet Stores
Pet stores can range from boutiques that specialize in one type of animal (like fish or reptiles), or they can sell all kinds of animals. Most pet stores are pretty small and cramped, with several companion animals packed inside. Even if they clean cages and messes up every night, there is still an undeniable odor. Painting with Activa inside of a pet store would eliminate the odors and make the space easier for humans and animals to occupy!
Disclaimer: We DO NOT support pet stores that sell from puppy mills or other animal mills. Please educate yourself on the pet stores you support to ensure they do not participate in animal mills.
Barns
If you’ve ever been in a barn, you know there is no getting that smell out, even with routine cleanings and maintenance. It’s just the smell of the wild! Painting an interior barn with Activa will help to eliminate the odors that get trapped there, hopefully making the air easier to breathe for the animals that live there.
Animal Shelters/Pounds/Sanctuaries
If you’ve ever visited an indoor animal shelter, you know the smell can be overwhelming. The staff can’t always help as they are usually on top of cleaning (I used to volunteer for two!). Painting inside these areas with Activa would help anyone coming to visit, the team, and the animals. These animals are waiting for their moment of redemption, the least we can do is advocate for their right to breathe clean air too! Encourage your local animal shelters/pounds/sanctuaries to paint with Activa.
Conclusion
Most animals can smell a lot more, and much better, than we can. So, when odors enter our home (or are already present) it has the potential to be more offensive for them than for us. Fortunately, Activa has several properties that our companion animals can benefit from, the biggest being pure, clean air to breathe. With several studies discussing the effects of indoor air pollution on humans, it can’t be good for our furry friends to breathe in pollution either. Activa aims to help all beings, two-legged or four-legged. If you want to rid your home of odors, look no further than painting with Activa.
